A quiet refuge - for new reasons...
Its impressive to see that topic "Redline and Snow Leopard" on asw-forums.
I feel like i start to hate these so called Moderators over there - never happened to me before.
Thanks leo for this quiet place.
Enjoy creating, building and racing - and don't forget to have fun!

Re: A quiet refuge - for new reasons...
This forum has existed for almost a year now, it has more than 50 members - and still no trolling, flaming or even viral advertising has taken place so far.
I think I know a reason why this forum has remained well-bred: The main page of legacyoflies.com has a link to the Ambrosia Web Board, but not to this forum. That directs all the spirited chatter (that's a euphemism) from the shoutbox over to Ambrosia's Web Board. Very clever, Leo!

Re: A quiet refuge - for new reasons...
Like I said in the flame war topic over there, its amazing that such a simple question lead to such a bizarre journey. The number of mods and unheard of folks who seemed to be brought in to bully the regulars was also astonishing. And Alph, you had it spot on, the first reaction should have been "I don't know, I'll find out"...
Perhaps the answer will actually arrive today, the topic will be locked, and we can all go back to our own rooms.

It is linked off legacyoflies.com, though. Click on "Other", then look down to "Linked Resources:"

Re: A quiet refuge - for new reasons...
sorry if missed to defend my friends...
Now, next time someone will ask me why i release my plugin cars here, instead ASW Forum, I will kick his/her ass. Look how kids are they. Not only the "well known" moderator add an answer in a section he never look at, but also "never-seen.before" storic members replied in the topic to give "the force" to the "well know" moderator...
Sorry, but I call this kiddish behavior... Poor guys...

Re: A quiet refuge - for new reasons...
At the risk of transferring the "lovefest" here, I can't believe the idiotic post by Spoony at the reopened topic... First, it really took some bravery on his part to post that it was bound to work, after jonas reported that it actually does. Second, the obvious extrapolation from his stance is that we can stop testing software and just look at the reported changes in a new OS and declare that something will work.
'nuff said.

It was a joke. There was too much hyperbole for it to be anything but.

I hope Spoony doesn't sweat as much as Ballmer does.

i wouldnt worry too much pax hes just a typical arrogant know-it-all hanging on to his beta testing memories ... he hasnt contributed to this community in 3 years except for some egotistical remarks and drawn out posts about his fake m3Pax-raider wrote:'nuff said.

Ambrosia has only managed to piss me off over the last year or so. It's sad to see what started out as such a lovely company that crafted so many hours of my childhood experiences sink so low.

they're at it again
it seems OMD's account was suspended or deleted from the ASW web board after his 'bye' topic. As I can't find a way to close my ASW account myself, I guess it was one of the almighty moderators...
EDIT: wow, it's 17:50 UTC and some moderator has just deleted OMD's topic. Strong tobacco.

Ever noticed how, once we have one "Elite" board member in the fray, they all follow soon afterwards.
These things aren't human, they are a hive mind! "My name is legion, for we are many."

Re: A quiet refuge - for new reasons...
I had contact with the Dude, well in fact he wrote that he left and asked for the deletion of his account on the asw-forums.
he did not declare the reasons publicly - but he left for good as far as i can see.
The only problem is the deletion of the topic, not the leaving of the dude (though this is a problem too - but a different one for me )

what I dislike is giving them a chance to pull out their kid ego and have the fun to see the other gamers writing flames under every direction.alphonse wrote:I had contact with the Dude, well in fact he wrote that he left and asked for the deletion of his account on the asw-forums.
