Ever wonder where Ambrosia got its inspiration for the Escape Velocity default names? (Stud Beefpile, Dash Riprock, Rick Hardslab etc.)
To understand what's going on in the clip above, you must know about Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). It was a TV series in the 90s where terrible movies were shown, and we watch a silhouette of a man and his robot friends making humorous comments along with the movie, as if we were sitting behind them in the movie theater. In this montage we hear the various satirical nicknames that are given to the hero David Ryder in the movie Space Mutiny (1988).
