Tracker/Login problems... Empty Tracker/Login problems...

Post  Battlewagon Tue Oct 14, 2008 7:51 pm

Alright, I've got a double problem, possibly related. The Redline Webtracker keeps listing games in progress, but I can't get any when I load Redline. In addition...Ambrosia's website keeps going up and down, and I can't log in to talk to anyone about this!!! What gives? Do I have my internet settings all wrong?? As far as I know, nothing has changed lately.

Step away from the interwebs before you break it! Suspect

I found that ASW forums have a tendency to be flaky in the early hours of GMT. Your Redline problem is probably just the wonderful net code doing its thing.

Tracker/Login problems... Empty Proxies??

Post  Battlewagon Wed Oct 15, 2008 4:31 am

Well....I just tried to log onto the website again, with no luck. I'm assuming Redline will be the same, as the tracker and the Ambrosia website seem to be part of the same system (although the tracker application you can get to run seperately from the browser continues to work, although nobody is online now). All the other U.S. websites work (as indeed Legacy is, along with Yahoo, the New York Times, and so on), so I'm assuming this is a problem specific to Ambrosia, but more than anything it seems the Ambrosia server has a problem with specifically my computer, my network, or possibly the Czech Republic. Narrowing it down further, I don't think it's my computer, since I can access the Ambrosia site through a proxy, and it doesn't seem to matter which proxy or in what country, although I haven't tried a Czech proxy yet, as I can't find one. That brings me to another question....is there any add-on or trick available for running Redline in MP through a proxy??? There clearly isn't anything in the default settings for any kind of network setup, but what about Mac OS? Can I set everything to run through a proxy, without regard to browser or game settings?
