Redline Bicycles

Post  Tomte on Thu Sep 18, 2008 8:50 am

I'm just looking for a new bicycle for my girlfriend, preferably a cyclo-cross bike. There are only a handful of manufacturers out there for this kind of frames and look what I found: Redline Bicycles

If that isn't a hint then what is?

hehe. nice. Redline is a good frame maker who have been working those aluminum tubes for quite awhile, the company has a very good track record and keep their frames reasonably priced. i would take it as a sign and go for it.

Giant has come a long way. Their cyclocrosser looks good, it's just missing drop-outs for mud guards and a rack. But it already comes with Eggbeaters!

First time I rode a Giant (for some extended time) it had a wobbly fork and the geometry was off.
Second time was a carbon/aluminium frame under the name of Specialized... at least I think that Giant produced the frame for Specialized, cause it was relativly cheap and Giant had a very similar model in their range with a similar price point... Anyway, this one was also wobbly around the bottom braket, too much flex.
But since the mid 90s, they were one of the companies who brought down the prices for good quality frames/bikes. They pushed carbon a lot and also went more and more into aluminium. (Still, I trust Cannondale for AL2)

BTW, I just bought a probably 15 year old Rauler (Italian) race bike for riding in the hills/mountains around. Rauler produced frames for (Ernesto) Colnago, but also sold under their own name. I'm quite pleased with that, looks I'm starting to collect old steel race bikes....

steel is real babeh! after the city ate my last carbon road frame for breakfast (at approximately 20mph...car door opens....bike stops....slow flies about 20 feet .....carbon frame broken in half....sweet). soon to be the proud owner of a cinelli super-corsa.
