GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
Hello Redline LoL lovers,
You like cars and you like games! Am i right?
Guess what? here is a new car game!
Because we all are a bit busy to play sim/bl; real life is bugging us, isn't it?
Today it's time for a simple but fun game for you car lovers.
Here is how it goes:
In the Netherlands we don't really have a good climate for cars. And we don't have enough garages to store them. So people wrap their oldtimers or other precious wheels under a cover. When I see one of those i always get curious and start guessing, some times it's easy (like a DS) but mostly not.
Now i've started taking pictures of those covered cars i come across.
Every week on wednesday i post a covered car and all you have to do is..... guess!
First one that posts with the right answer wins. You have a week every wednesday a post a new one. If you can give more correct details, like year, specific type, interesting facts etc. you can win even if your answer has comes in later.
If you have pictures of your own or see a covered car, mail them to me (t5.1(at)me.com) and i make sure there is a new quest every week!
Good luck and Have fun! here is car number one

Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
European cars aren't my thing. The first thought that comes to mind is a Mustang, but in Europe...? IDK I like the idea of the challenge though and look forward to viewing the photos as they are posted.

Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
From my point of view, that's the Firebird's twin - a 2nd Generation Chevrolet Camaro with a powerdome on the hood (like on this '73 Camaro Z28), but by the looks of it, it doesn't have a spoiler.
EDIT: By the way - T5, please specify that stuff with the 'additional details' better. I reckon that the first one who gets the right manufacturer, exact model and generation right, should win, regardless if someone else later adds more details.

Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
ummh no it's not, I suppose is an european car... Looking from the front, has a front vent induct, the front grille is lower then light heights, and is like to have a "Mercedes star" in front... I don't mean is a Mercedes cause the rim remember an american muscle car... searching
Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
cause is already started the flame with Val, i guess this:
1976 1972 Triumph GT6
Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
Neat idea! I'm going to agree with Val...2nd gen f-body with a cowl hood. By the way the hood slopes, I'm thinking 1976 Camaro with a fiberglass hood.

Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
Hm, isn't the Triumph too short and too high?
My first imagination was a Citroen SM, but the rewarded wheel cases and the hump on the hood are arguments against.
BTW T5: Nice idea to pick up us again ;-)

Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
too short, yes is the only doubt I have. But is very close to the front design of the covered car. Has no rear wings, and rims are close, although the triumph don't equip american tires...Tuktuk wrote:Hm, isn't the Triumph too short and too high?

I thought Citroen as well, but can't find something similar...

If you realized that you can have a Camaro F-Body with a powerdome'd hood (there are various shapes) but at the same time with no rear wing and no front spoiler, you'd be quite a bit further.

A-rod wrote:So... What is it?
Good evening ladies and gentlemean
welcome to another show of GtC!!!!
Despite all rumours about LoL being stopped the show must go on!
Before we reveal the second covered car, first the winner of episode 1, closest was , of course : Val!!
1974 Camaro. (the hood, i could not see, i could only lift the cover a little bit, nice detail btw)
Now the new quest. Send in by GummyBear. A bit hard for the EU contestants because it isn't sold here.
Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
In answer to your email, I do not know enough about the brand to give you much more information than I did, but somewhere I have a picture of the car out from under the tarp. If I can find it, I'll send it to you.

Re: GUESS THE CAAAAAARRRRRRR!
Yay!
Regarding the new one:
The "SIRROMET" cover means that an Australian winery paid money to be placed on the cover for a car and it appears to have both a serious front splitter and a rear wing, so it might be a race car.
The grille & headlight placement remind me of a Holden VE Commodore.
I'm pretty sure that this is a Holden VE Commodore (current generation) racing in the V8 Supercars Australia series.

If the grille was split, it could have been a G8 or a Commodore Special Edition (Commodores fitted with leftover Pontiac bumpers).

Good evening car lovers it's wednesday and time for another episode of Gueeeeessss the Caaaaaarrrrrrr!
Keen observation work from our German friend Val! Indeed it was the Holden Commodore V8 race edition.
That's the second winning for the Val, where is the Hamilton on the LoL-forum that beats this German in the third round?
Here it is:
Good luck, see u next week!
btw: summer made a lot of car covers suddenly disappear here in Holland, so if you have any pictures pls send them in
