Hold close door button down until door closes.
Continue holding close door button.
Press and hold desired floor button.
Continue to hold close door button and floor button.
You will go directly to the selected floor, no stops.
Works on all elevators.

Funny.. I remember hearing somewhere that the "close door" button on an elevator does absolutely nothing, other than making people feel empowered. I'll have to try it, though. The tallest building in my town is maybe 8 stories, though, so no big advantage. Wink

Nice dream but, as far as I can tell, not true. Neutral

Every modern elevator is programmed; the close door button definitely works in some elevators, but the presence of a button doesn't mean it's enabled.

As for this express mode trick, it's probably false. Many elevators have a service mode that can be switched on with a key that causes the elevator to behave in a similar way, but the elevator won't answer any calls when it's in service mode.

At first I thought this was going to be another of those "A man a plan a canal Panama" things. It wasn't, but I still think that whoever first thought of that palindrome may have wet his/her pants when they first thought of it...

Sorry for the non-sequitur, its "stream of consciousness wednesday" in my office y'know.
