Not sure if you mean topics/discussion is blah, or you don't like the new format. It certainly seems a bit more active lately...pEsT wrote:can't say yet. i will wait a few days and see if i love it

I was just thinking of the terrible redesign, although this topic now has a double meaning thanks to the latest flame war!Pax-raider wrote:Not sure if you mean topics/discussion is blah, or you don't like the new format. It certainly seems a bit more active lately...
I just noticed that all our old quoted posts have been broken by the redesign. These guys are giving amateurs a bad name.

Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
to be honest, I feel the readable (i hope is the right english word) is not good. I get confused reading through the posts, while was quite smooth before the update. Obviously, people would say it's better cause they have a couple of new icons here and there (it remember me the previous MacOS updates, where nothing was changed except the GUI, and people say "WOOHOO".... But, woohoo for what?)
Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
Upgrading the forum for me is a sign ambrosia is still active.
Forums have security concerns in updates - therefore i feel its okay.
I dont like the layout yet - but that is a matter of cleanup.
The flamewar though is ... crazy.

Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
don't post or read the thread "a random topic, Oscar", and it will quickly go in the second page, leading the idiot who create that into the rubbish.
just back on the community and developing stuffs

It appears there are no mods left who have any interest in maintaining civility in the ASW board. Now we have mods actually trying to poke us in the eye. and apparently encouraging other boards to spam us.

Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
remember in 99,99% of cases, moderators of public forums are nerd that hadn't success in real life, and can show their power inside a display behind an internet cable...

PM'ed ElGuapo7:
Hi there,
As a Redline forum moderator, I want to suggest to you adding a new moderator who is more active in the forum and so can keep it policed more effectively.
"alphonse" is a calm, polite, and impartial gentlemen, I think it's fair to say much more so than anyone else on the forum. Whilst he is a forum regular, he is never interested in taking part in flame wars or bickering. I don't know how the process works but I would be grateful if you could pass my suggestion on to the higher powers.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
I think there's a good chance they'll agree to it. It was truly amazing to compare today's lengthy conflagration to the piddly nonsense that was enough to have people warned and topics locked in days gone by. I will be curious to see what ASW's response is.djpimley wrote:PM'ed ElGuapo7:

I wouldn't bet on it, but we can hope.Pax-raider wrote:I think there's a good chance they'll agree to it.
These flamewars things always come down to the same basic problem: the wider ASW forum community is a typical bunch of snarky snipers, as can be found on forums all over the web. Because this kind of offensive banter is their only way of communicating with each other online, they literally are unable to understand the difference between showing up in a random topic and writing "Hi there!" vs. "Hey idiots!"
Even the moderators don't see the difference, and so we have become the "elitist" Redline board in their minds. I'm glad we have found a nicer way to communicate with one another.

Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
after the latest offense I personally got, and the same friends of the community, while the marxsomething close the topic, I definitely close the forum as well. Leo, with sacrifices, give us this place, and ELECTED with sense of cause moderators. We are an online community, made by friendly behaviors, intelligent comments and posts, mathematical observations, interest sharing.
Here we always had the chance to freely talk about other company games, other game genres, open and close topics, spam videos and fun rubbish, and even talk about our personal stuffs, cars, women, games, and all we have in mind.
They think we are the cause of Redline is dying and we are xenophobic. But I personally think is not:
This was a screenshot I got in the late 2006 for the game review. Today we can found just one sim game, the élitist hosted by those players, still playing this game, invest in plugin development, and prefer to stay here and play together, instead play an awesome game like GT5.
I have Valentin K everyday and almost at every time in iChat, I play all the nights with djpimley. Tomte join in his spare times iChat as well. I found a couple of time sD on GT5, I try to meet all of you through this forum to talk, stay together and shoot anything we have in mind.
I don't need, at 35 years old, a fail nerd that nothing has in his life, except the power provided behind a forum by someone using them freely to avoid waste money. I will continue to work on the RS6 but it will never published on Ambrosia made of nerd forum.

I have been suspended, Bad boY
Sorry to share this...pretty useless...but...I feel like I cannot talk anymore, will you block me here?
I wrote in that stupid thread that the Moderators should have more respect of people developing the game, which otherwise would have been dead ages ago...I think they didn't get it. Well, I wasn't that polite, but now I feel I want to meet this mrcrap, and maybe bash his nose? I love you guys, I couldn't stand all that crap against us.

You have three days without the ability to post to think over how Redline is just a game and you need to lighten up. When you come back, please respect the forum rules and the authority of those who run them. If you attempt to continue the flamefest of the locked topic after your three day suspension, I'll ban you again for longer.
Go outside, take deep breaths, come back with a cooler head.

Well done then, you did what you think is fair.
I said just the truth.
Just another suggestion, because this was quite arrogant: "Go outside, take deep breaths, come back with a cooler head." You might have some authority, but don't suggest what to do to me, because you don't have this right. Few people have this privilege. It's just a job.

@20
It makes no sense to worry about this.
I still have a 3 years old 20% warning there. Do you know - I have no idea why. The moderators there seem to be from a parallel universe. They are incompetent in every way.

Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
we should just avoid that forum for ever. We have a nice one here, which I didn't know...
I am asking mrxak if they have banned the idiots who attacked and started that war, still no answer.
But I think the mods have insulted us too much..."I know, the Redline People are xenophobic unless you are a hardcore sim racer"
I'd say let's boycott them and their webboard.

Re: ASW forum has become a barrel of FAIL
Boycotting them means no Redline - they run the tracker. The only problem are the crackbrained moderators. They are the same silly unworldly kids like these spam idiots. I have no idea why Ambrosia gave them this job. Probably because these are their main customers ...20FingerS wrote:we should just avoid that forum for ever.
