TCC Invitational Brainstorming
Alphonse and I are starting this thread to give everyone interested in participating in the upcoming TCC 8 race series a chance to give input on what the tournament should include. Please feel free to suggest any element that you think will make the races more fun and interesting.
We are pretty far along with tournament organization, based on our experience with the the GT3's, we think it will run smoothly enough. That being said, we would like to hear any idea you have. If we can include it within the structure we already have, we will.
To get things started here are a few elements still under consideration: Tracks (see below) cars, pit stops, car performance overall and on specific tracks (see car balancing thread on Ambrosia forum) rules, penalties, invitational aspect of tournament, or any else.
Tracks
Currently, our main selections, likely to change:
spa
black forest
brands hatch
rudskogen
silverstone
mid ohio
pembrey
watkins
Other TCC worthy tracks being considered:
Donington
donington international
zolder
laguna
High Speed Loop

If Laguna wants to be in there, I can see about getting the pits drivable.. Having pit stops does add something to the long races.

Re: TCC Invitational Brainstorming
To push the discussion a bit, here are some more details:
We are planning to have a qualifying session from August 6 - August 13 to build the groups.
Therefore the plug-ins should be final till August 4 to allow us to test them and see which cars fit into the tournament and which dont.
Nothing is fix, but some more information is available here .
One more time: nothing is fixed - we will decide on tracks after we know the individual strenght of the cars.
Feel free to post comments on the basic layout of the tournament or any wishes or concerns.
I will be in holiday from next wednsday until August 4 - so i rely on Toad and you all to bring things to a good end. If i can do anything till then - please let me know.

How nice guys, i'm looking forward to it!
Because tcc is more of a 'contact' sport
(quoting a mp'er). Wouldnt it be nice to have 2 heats in one race. So mistakes by caused by other drivers (COUGH-me-COUCH) wil be flattened out in the final result per race.
It's just an idea; i'll be happy with any kind of race tournament
or can we al drive/be lucky like this:
but i think will go like this

I was thinking a similar thing. Two twenty minute races would be in the touring car spirit. Maybe we could do a WTCC, one standing and one rolling start? With reverse grid for race 2?
Matt Jackson (in the white BMW) got a penalty for that crash as I remember. I couldn't (and still can't) figure out why.

Just a quick update: I will have drivable pits ready soon for Laguna Seca! (at the expense of Pax-Curbs®™ at that corner)
By the way, stick a link to the TCC pages here, in case Ambrosia fell into a black hole..

Okey Dokey,
For those of you who did not see the post in the vacationing Ambrosia forum here's the link to the RLTCC site via the registration page.
Please use the email form to Register
Also we've noted the suggestions in this thread and will see what can come of them.
Anyone have any ideas on what can be done for Spa? It has useless pit lane access and the ever present barrel problem, so its unlikely that it will stay on the schedule as is even though it's such a stellar layout.
Appreciate the pit adjustment on Laguna Kenners. Final track choice depends on the balancing updates made to the cars. Further balancing will then be added to the series by tuning the track choices to the car class. Happily, we have many to choose from.

Re: TCC Invitational Brainstorming
I can release a quick update with immovable tire stacks, if that's something that would make things better. But I won't cry if you remove the track from the list, as I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.Toad wrote:Anyone have any ideas on what can be done for Spa? If you do make the tyre stacks immovable is the any chance of getting them a metre or two further away from the apexes (apii? apices?
). Totally immovable and right on the corner is good for time trial, but not so helpful for MP (imo Pit lane access should be less of a problem though shouldn't it? Touring cars are not well known for their pit stops!
