side note to jw barto: DON"T FIGHT THE PASS!!!
Ha ha! That's the only way I know how to not get lapped! I guess I am just not as much of a racing geek as the rest of you. I don't know what the rules are - clearly. In my mind winning is ending in front... and if that means keeping people in back, then so be it. Now I see the error of my ways. Apologies to Val and anyone else who may have had trouble LAPPING ME MORE THAN 4 TIMES!! :-)
I know I'm not very good... but when I was following Harpo there was an instance on the last turn into the long straight that he completely left me in the dust - even though we entered the turn and the straight at the same speed. What is up with that? Am I missing the secret nitrous button or something? I just don't get it.
Anyway - suppose that's why I like the ARSE races. Hell, I invented them.
Good game anyway... glad I could take part. The daughters were occupied and the wife was still at work.
Thanks for letting me hang with the Big Boys... er, Men. Hey, at least Maxwell sucks almost as bad as me! No offense Max!

Re: [RLRC] THE REDLINE LONG RACE CLUB
no worries at all ... really made no difference to my placement, yet im sure a few others may differ. all in all, still a fun race ... perhaps next time you'll let the boys pass when they honk
as far as the turn you speak of, i've learned tcc cars are very sensitive with entries into a turn ... makes all the difference imho

Re: [RLRC] THE REDLINE LONG RACE CLUB
was a nice race. Unfortunately, the race start was different from first try, moving my car on left row. This didn't allow me to use the faster Volvo acceleration, cause my car was just on wrong lane to make the first right corner. Also, as soon I was closing the turn, I saw the Harpo's 190 going understeer and hitting me, allowing to Alphonse and Max Damage to pass from the inside.
Fortunately, just after the first turn, Harpo did an error, and his car went oversteering, with Alphonse hitting him and allowing me to pass both without troubles. Max Damage did an error too in a couple of turns, and here I was able to pass without time loss, also.
But, unfortunately, the entire race was ruined on first lap, cause for my 1,5 seconds slower Volvo, the unique chance was stay in front from first turns.
Nothing, nor the 54,64 seconds World record allowed me to push in 53/54 seconds as average. At least, looking at the end, a 29 seconds from the faster Mercedes is really a good time.

Re: [RLRC] THE REDLINE LONG RACE CLUB
It was a really nice race for me. good fun with a close battle for some laps with SF.
Though i must admit:
I had 2 hard manouvres without breaking, beacuse if felt not guilty:
-> Harpo was in lap one, curve one, after the above described manouvre hit by me. I dont feel guilty about that one, as i just could not break and had an "obstacle" just ahead of me... sorry to Harpo anyway
-> In lap 3, the snail recovered from grassseeing and i was approaching fast in curve 2. Due to my much faster speed i decided to take my chance and overtake him inside. It was close, i even hit him due to him not leaving me place and so he went to the grass again. sorry the snail, hope i did not harm you and you decided to leave because of me.
Both actions were close to being unfair, but imho they weren't unfair, just hard racing. If there are bad feelings about them, pls tell me...

indeed, you have no faults on the car crash. I just described how I had the chance to pass both of you. Harpo was already spinning cause grass hit with rear left wheel, and was already going out. Your hit was unavoidable.

RLRC - JWB's race journal
Great race Leo... thanks again!
For my part: I only got lapped twice... a 50% improvement over last race! Oh, and I got out of the way when people passed me.
A couple of times I went off the road.. but only momentarily. My biggest blunder was actually rolling the car. Yikes!
All in all I felt like I was starting to get the hang of it a little more. I still take the turns too wide and I just mastered the coasting through corners thing at the last few laps.
There was a time near lap 30 that I was actually closing in on some other drivers. They must've crashed or something! Most of the race I was by myself... except when getting passed by others.
I'll keep practicing... you haven't seen the last of JWB!
Thanks everyone... see you next time.

Re: [RLRC] THE REDLINE LONG RACE CLUB
congratz Leo, again you played really well, for what your car allow. 54,97 with Mazda is even faster then the fastest avg Volvo laps. Unfortunately I wasn't able to join.

Good work! Judging from your total race time you are turning in laps well under a minute. It shows pretty well that its not the fastest lap, but the least mistakes that gets you to the front.
And rolling the car at Lime is really easy!
