I sure will if there's a tournament! I don't know about anyone else but I have a busy life and I don't want to spend my time each evening waiting in a lobby for some friendly simmers to appear. But when I can be sure of the good company, I'll be there, come hell or high water.

And because I am a busy man I have no time to participate in tournaments but time now and then for relaxing MP races.

The best of both worlds would be some sort of site where you could announce a race in advance and interested people could be emailed or notified some other way. Perhaps there could be voting for preferred track and car combos and maybe even a ladder scoring system?
Kinda like the RLRC website that was suggested! (Disclaimer: I have no idea how to do it, but it would be good.

Detroit Iron Cup
I am starting to think about an event... scary stuff.
You might have noticed I have a soft spot for the Detroit iron of the 1960s and 1970s. We've got a great selection of pony cars and muscle cars which haven't been raced in competition since the days of RRL and which demand a driving style very different from TCC and GT cars.
I'm thinking of either a special event (Rumble Cup style) running over a weekend, or a little league rolled into RLRC. Just a thought with no plans yet. This would be a little thing, not in the big league.

Re: Race Series in 2009
Update.
I am short on time - sorry all.
Did you know...
... we had 23 Long races so far? (at least thats what i found on the forum thread...)
... with 55 different Participants?
... the last longrace was held on June 24 (!)
First glimps available here:
http://www.legacyoflies.com/tcc/rlrc/races/
The website is by no means perfect, the adress for sure not the final destination.
I have one Elo-Ranking done for all races, the result is available.
More to come later, but not before Friday i fear, seing my mountain of work in front of me, argh!

Nice work Alphonse!
Looking forward to some more of those RLRC races.
I had nearly forgotten about it.
Thanks for all of your effort in bringing this back to the forefront.
I hope your real life workload gets easier soon. slow

Re: Race Series in 2009
I remember the very first rlrc race was a TCC race. I got up at 4 A.M. to participate. I don't know where it was, though, and I cannot find the thread it was organised. It wasn't at the usual place, because I created the RLRC_Hosts account only after the first race.
Ah, found the link:
results of the first RLRC race at Lime Rock Park.

This is great. A little more screen space for the information would be nice but the mechanism is working nicely.

Re: Race Series in 2009
Thanks for all the comments - will act accordingly
Added the "old" races to the elo system and recalculated all values.
Now we have 30 races with 62 participants and a different ranking.
Incredible how much was thought already. Never saw any solution being completed.
Time to change this.
Wanna discuss the coefficient K again? I started with 1500 base value for the ranking, k is set to 25 for all.
Seems reasonable for me - but i am open for a discussion.
Will update the website according your feedback and my ideas and organize a RLRC event.
Cant be the end

Re: Race Series in 2009
Okidoki,
http://www.legacyoflies.com/rlrc/
page updated:
- i love SF's layout - no need to invent anything special new - my opinion
- T5 made a banner (phew - thanks a lot T5!)
- Leo organized the place to be on his server
Still missing
- Content besides some intro and the races themselves - any ideas around out there?
- nicer layout of results - WIP
- Who wants to contribute to the page? Any volunteers around there?
- Link to ambrosia-threads
As soon as you feel like its okay we go final with the pages
