The custom reminds me of the car that Stallone drove in one of those Stallone films. City something?

Here's a stock version of a 1949 Mercury and James Dean
Affectionately called the Lead Sled. (The car not Dean)
For me they are the epitomy of what a custom can be.
The Merc was an expensive car for it's day, before Ford got a hold of the company.

Lovely. The beginnings of the "brutal beauty" that I admire so much in (some) American cars.

Pretty snazy, I have no idea what it is though.
It's always struck me as odd, how sinister looking modern cars can look. Maybe it's just meant to be macho, but they seem to have an intimidating appearance that makes me think back to a hilarious horror flick from the late 1970's called "The Car". "The Car" was a modded driverless Lincoln Continental that was possessed by the Devil, and drove around the desert killing dumbasses.
I've noticed that Chrysler in particular has quite a few trucks and cars that try to evoke that menace. Kinda goofy and hilarious in a pickup or family car.

My bro got married this past weekend....great excuse to take out pop's puppies.
He restored the '35s himself over many years, the '55 T-Bird is an "investment", and the '68 Mustang was a loaner.
The two proud fathers posing.

More Money Than Brains
Was working in Carmel the other day when I saw this in the driveway of the 2 million dollar house next door. Hard to figure what they are thinking to let this sit there like this. Guess if you have that much money, who cares. This from the class that think Americans don't deserve national health care.

How does a cover get that beat up in Cali?
Support the Health Care- they're feeding you lies about our. Yes, there are waits, but you get what you need. For nothing.

Mercury was always part of Ford, founded in 1939 by Edsel, rolled into the Lincoln div. in '45. We had a '53 Meteor, 3-on-the-tree. Big and comfy.

Re: hot "spot"
First off, sorry for all these photos, but I have to share.

My first ever sighting of a Veyron. You bet I was excited.

Never seen an Enzo in that paint scheme. Does that mean anything?

Rolls Royces are big!

Some kind of Mercedes. I don't know what kind it is. They all pretty much look the same to me.

Nobody will notice this one. It's got neon green wheels and highlights!

There were also some more exotics, like Gallardos, Murcielagos, Bentleys, and a couple more Ferraris.

pls, just serious cars, aleksi, no cars coming from barbie...
Now, for the happiness of redline's players, here one of "our" beauty! We don't have the cabriolet edition, but NNB gave us a taste of the power of this car!

well, the guy have no knowledge of how a car like that should be parked... We were in the center of Roma, in the middle of Fontana di Trevi and Piazza di Spagna.

The more expensive vehicle you own, the more important it is to park it in a public place where it is constantly seen by others. Only the most professional thieves are not scared away by public supervision.DonaemouS wrote:well, the guy have no knowledge of how a car like that should be parked... The "no parking knowledge" detail that I noticed from those Mustang pictures was that the car was parked over a pedestrian crossing. I don't know Italian parking rules, but I would think that such a parking spot would be illegal in most European contries?

The other theory is that cars which are parked alone are saver because everybody who is approaching the car is in a kind of spotlight. Within a crowd a thief can act more inconspicuous. That's why I park my car mostly on an emtpy part of a parking place.
What's wrong with that Mustang in Rome? Not everybody is an extrovert car holder.

The driver parked the car on both pedestrian crossing, and in less the 8 meters from a road cross, just under the traffic light.
