Re: What's consuming your time today?
Thanks, guys. I will try to take some fun photos along the way - however far we get. She goes like a rocket when she goes at all - the bugger has broken down on me several times but hopefully after new hoses, battery, rebuilt alternator, new tie bars, bushes, pump, rear lights, engine fan, having the seized brakes freed, new timing belt and coolant tank she will run good.
Nice engine block, good tyres, not too much rust. Everything else...

Paintball Paradise is silly fun.
http://cmune.com/
Seems to have NAT issues, updates promised.
Widget may be unable to join games, but hosting works. Fully functional only in the Facebook app for me.
EDIT: http://testing.cmune.com/PP5HBeta.html ...latest beta...I can join with Safari
2nd EDIT: Widget connection issues might be with Firefox as default only...with Safari works fine, will need to restart widget from within dashboard, and maybe play over website first to get a plugin...
3rd edit: I have to restart the widget (close/reactivate) often to get the tracker working again, playing the standard version.

Dangerous driving and bad craziness
Howdy.
We made it as far as the Mauritanian border before the clutch hydraulics disintegrated and then we smashed the sump on a rock outcrop whilst traversing 10 kilometres of mine-strewn off-piste no man's land between Western Sahara and Mauritania. Sold the car there and then to a friendly Mauritanian pirate for 250 Euros and a ride to the border.
Not a bad price for a 25-year-old car stranded in a mine field with no clutch and oil pouring out of it - and abandoning the vehicle in no man's land meant we avoided paying the extortionate vehicle import duty charged by West African nations. We chartered bush taxis the rest of the way to The Gambia using our ill-gotten gains.
Here's the car shortly before its demise. It will surely be back on the road by now, enjoying its third life.

I'm looking forward to driving recklessly in some virtual cars again soon...

Re: What's consuming your time today?
Welcome back dj, glad you made it home in one piece even if the car didn't. You're a brave man. And yes, I still haven't released "that track" yet, but at least I've set myself a deadline of next weekend...
Are we gonna see a bigger set of pictures some time?

sheesh... that kinda sounds scary. Glad you're alright. Redline is much safer me thinks.
Must have been quite the adventure and I'm sure will be good for some life long memories.
Cheers

Welcome back. Nice adventure. But at what point did you realise you were in a mine field?

Some photos from the journey on my website
Thanks for the kind words.
For the record, we always knew about the minefield. I don't know if that makes us more or less stupid.
