Someone make the DBR9, damnit! then use the model to make the DB9R (that won't cause any confusion...).

Re: What's consuming your time today?
I wish I had some kind of nerdy project going on that I could share with you, but my life is a bit dull at the moment.
Boring stuff first: I'm writing a master thesis on the auditory icons (system sounds) of Windows Vista. My method will mainly be structuralistic analysis. Due spring '09. This seems to drain all my free time, so in the next months I need to find a way to have fun every now and then without it compromising my reading and writing.
Redline related:

Smoothing the vertices of the control line offset chicane at Lyngaas using roadcones as aim points, combined with some high school geometry, a great number of Redline relaunches and lots of elbow grease. I've tried four different approaches, and each one seems to be better than the previous.

This week I have been mostly watching vids like this...

I've been looking for this post since last night. After getting some video stuttering while my graphic settings were lower then I've ever set them... and seeing a very decent framerate 35 /45 , I decided to launch activity monitor.
Damn CPUS were running 100@ almost ALL THE TIME. (G5 Dual 2Ghz) I restarted my system, launched nothing but Activity monitor and still processors maxing out.....
Just ran the solution 1 command lines...as per Snail... and system now running at 30/50 % when in lobby or idle, but still hitting 100% when racing monaco with F1.
I proceed to solution 2..... and wow.... CPU now running at 10/50% looking better Select play on line.... start monaco with F1 car.... maxes out at 100% at starting line... and settles back at 50% while racing. By the way, I've stepped up graphics also and still getting better CPU performance.
Merci pour cette solution. and I hope it takes care of some of this stuttering. All this started back at 10.5.4 update I believe, but not 100% sure.

Is this next one Dan ?
I'm thinking next RLTCC.... hoping for Watkins Glen, Thuxton, Imola and Brands. I only want finished tracks in the event though so It might just be wishful thinking. Then again.... I dont mind holding off the event. I have no timetable.
As a feeler... I'm thinking..... less participants, more cars per race as in 2 groups of 10, no eternal break in the middle of the event. 4 consecutive weeks.... this info privy to legacy crowd.
Will read comments, opinions and suggestions but in the end... Dictator approach still applies.

Yep, well under way now. Still need to throw some more buildings, trees and advertising at it before first release. But I'm figuring that will be within another couple of weeks. That should be perfectly race-able but not quite as pretty as it could be!
Back to juggling trees!

Re: What's consuming your time today?
Keeping a close eye on the wife (see below)
Had a very long and fun session today hosted by Alphonse and Slow, almost made up for all the time this week I did not have access to the wheel room.
Among other things in the chat today, the Los Angeles fires came up, and we talked about the Santa Ana (like Mistral in Spain) winds that create the vast fast moving deadly fire walls. It must have been really bad yesterday cause the planes and Helicopters were flying at night, something they never do normally. Many hundreds of homes burned.
From Wikipedia: The Santa Ana winds (also known as Santana winds) are strong, extremely dry offshore winds that characteristically sweep through California in late fall into winter. They can range from hot to cold, depending on the source which is the Great Basin (That includes Utah CG, but not you personally). However, the winds are remembered most for the hot dry weather (often the hottest of the year) that they bring in the fall.
Here's a relevant quote by the great detective novelist Raymond Chandler on the Santa Ana winds:
"Those hot dry winds that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands' necks. Anything can happen."

I got one half done that might fit nicely. No timetable either, so can't say when it'll be done. About half the buildings done and scenery model just beginning (but its a relatively simple one). Some spy shots may sneak their way past the guards soon...

Oh bugger, I only saw your post today. And I thought I have a break from that car making malarkey.
I would take it on and get a team together for the textures. Maybe it is time for some old school DTM races after all.

Ah, someone took the bait.
This is the reason I'll be off the grid for a while in January. This is a 1983 BMW 520i left-hand drive import from Germany with a straight 6 2-litre engine. She is affectionately known as "The Honey Badger" and I and my friend will be attempting to drive her to The Gambia on January 9th.
